How to Play

Players' Rules

The
Chief Umpire

Ensures that stewards are familiar with the rules and order of play. Acts as judge in any dispute between players and stewards, making the final decision.

The
Ringmaster

Maintains the agreed rate of play and ensures that hold-ups are kept to a minimum. He keeps the ring clear of all non-participating players and personel.

The
Stewards

Maintain the smooth running of each game and ensure that the rules are followed. They record the results of each game and collect all laces and bibs from defeated players.

The
Secretary

Oversees the registration of players and liaises with stewards to allow the competition to run smoothly. He assists with key events, including the finals and presentations.

The
Ushers

Assist the Competition Secretary in the registration of players. They ensure that players are ready in the collecting ring at the appropriate times and keep the collecting ring organised.

The
Recorders

Collect a record of the results from stewards after each game, keeping score of individuals from teams as they progress or are knocked out of the competition.
