New Venue for the World Conker Championships
Ashton Conker Club is delighted to announce that the World Conker Championships has moved to a new venue! This will be used for the first time in October 2009.
The World Conker Championships are delighted to have found an ideal site less than a mile away from the old one. Many thanks go to New Lodge Veterinary Centre for making this superb venue available to the Championships.
The new venue offers many advantages, such as:
- Easy to find - it is less than a mile from Ashton
- The venue overlooks the Nene Valley giving superb views across to Oundle
- There is double the space for the championships, allowing larger playing areas for both adults and juniors
- There is more space for stalls and entertainment which will eliminate congestion between the ring and stalls
- More space means more stalls and food outlets will be available
- Much larger (and flatter!) car park with separate entry and exits
- Car parking should be much easier than previously!
