The 2016 World Conker Championships will be held at Southwick, near Oundle, Northamptonshire on 9th October 2016. The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and finishes at 3:30 p.m.
As a spectator, the entrance costs are £5 for adults and £2 for senior citizens and children. Family tickets (2 adults and up to 4 children) cost £10. Car Parking is FREE!
You can expect the pub itself to be lively all day and there is live music throughout the day, so stay a bit later and spend the afternoon and evening in the company of new landlords Tom and Tracy who will welcome you to the Shuckburgh Arms.
The Guide Dog Demonstration Team will be attending the 2016 championships.
Master of ceremonies Mike Sewell from BBC Radio 5 Live is back for the third year with his entertaining style and wit!
The Peterborough Morris Men will show some traditional dancing, and the Palmy Ukuele Band will bring their unique sound to the event.
The 'Samba Bandits' will provide plenty of lively music that's guaranteed to raise the spirits. Local band 'The Weekenders' will be along later.
Back by popular demand, acoustic accompaniment from Five String Thing with Sync 'n' Tap. There will be traditional pub games and a very welcome return by The Balls Up Jugglers who will be staging workshops to teach juggling and other tricks. New this year, there will be a climbing wall too which promises some challenging fun!
Craft stalls and goodies around the green and in the Village Hall. Teas and cakes are also available in the village hall. A diverse selection of tempting foods are on offer along side an excellent choice of fine ales from the Shuckburgh Arms.
