World Conker Championships 2008 Winners

Ray Kellock from Rushden has been crowned the men's World Conker Champion at the World Conker Championships 2008 with Amy Farrow from Essex taking the ladies’ title.

The Junior Winner was Thomas Whincup (age 9) from Stilton. Runner up was Rico Dhadra from Oundle. In the Intermediate category, Robert Winfield (age 13) from Kettering took the title and Ashley Ward (age 13) from Northampton was runner-up. The Young Adult title went to Rebecca Moss (age 15) from Warmington while Chris Porter (age 16) from Peterborough was runner-up.

Almost 500 people from 19 different countries took part in the 44th event, watched by approximately 4500 spectators while over 1000 conkers were smashed!
